Full Circle Food

a cooking workshop for kids

Join us in celebrating the autumn harvest with an afternoon of exploring, preparing and sharing food at UBC Farm! We will spend time outside getting acquainted with what is happening in the garden at this time of year, then venture into the kitchen to collaboratively create a delicious snack incorporating some of the bounty from the farms fields. Participants will take home a nourishing, seasonally inspired recipe to share with their family and friends. (Ages 6 to 10)

Presenter Bio: Miel Richtscheid is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who finds great joy in working and playing with children of all ages.  She cultivates a love of food within young people by sharing her passions for cooking, gardening and attuning to the stories that food has to tell.

Date: Saturday, October 22nd  2:00 – 4:30pm

Location: UBC Farm

Cost: $37.00 (+$1.92 registration fee)

UBC Farm

The UBC Farm encompasses 24 hectares of integrated farm and forest lands on UBC’s South Campus. The farm is managed by the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems, which offers a wide range of interdisciplinary learning, research, and community programs on the site. Together, these programs explore and exemplify new paradigms for sustainable communities.

Through the Growing Season Workshop Series, we aim to connect sustainability and life-skills experts with our local community through accessible and affordable workshops.   Come join us for a workshop, gain new skills and knowledge, and help support the UBC Farm!
